What are altcoins and stablecoins?
Altcoins: Altcoins are cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin. They were introduced as an alternative to Bitcoin and have their own independent blockchain networks. Some popular altcoins include Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash. Altcoins often offer different functionalities, features, and use cases compared to Bitcoin.
Stablecoins: Stablecoins are a type of cryptocurrency designed to maintain price stability. Unlike other cryptocurrencies that experience significant price fluctuations, stablecoins are pegged to a stable asset, such as a fiat currency (e.g., US Dollar) or a commodity (e.g., gold). This stability makes stablecoins suitable for transactions, hedging against market volatility, and as a store of value.
