Can blockchain be hacked?

Blockchain technology is considered to be highly secure and resistant to hacking due to its decentralized nature and cryptographic algorithms. However, while it is highly unlikely, blockchain can still be hacked under certain conditions:

  • 51% Attack: If a single entity or group controls more than 50% of the network's computing power, they can potentially manipulate the blockchain.
  • Double Spending: In specific scenarios, hackers can exploit the time gap between network confirmation and adding blocks to the blockchain to spend the same digital currency multiple times.
  • Vulnerabilities in the Underlying Code: If there are coding flaws or vulnerabilities in the blockchain's software or smart contracts, hackers can exploit them to gain unauthorized access or compromise the system.
